The much-anticipated Hockey India League (HIL) marks its grand return, spotlighting Tamil Nadu’s pride, the Tamil Nadu Dragons (TND). With the theme of “Excellence, Passion, and Legacy,” the Charles Group, led by its visionary Chairman and MD, Mr. Jose Charles Martin, takes charge of the Tamil Nadu Dragons franchise. This launch signals a new chapter for Tamil Nadu’s hockey landscape while aligning with HIL’s commitment to elevating Indian hockey.
The event, held on December 17, 2024, brought together prominent dignitaries and sports enthusiasts. The program commenced with a showcase of the making of Tamil Nadu Dragons followed by an AV presentation highlighting key aspects of HIL, the Charles Group’s contributions, the HIL auction process, and an introduction to the TND team.
Key attendees included Mr. Sekar J Manoharan, CEO and Treasurer of Hockey India, Mr. Charles Dixon, Assistant Coach, and Olympian Amit Rohidass, alongside players and distinguished guests. The event featured the unveiling of the Tamil Nadu Dragons logo and jersey, symbolizing the team’s vision and determination.
The evening also included speeches by Mr. Sekar J Manoharan and Mr. Jose Charles Martin, who emphasized their commitment to nurturing hockey talent and uplifting Tamil Nadu’s sports infrastructure. A special thanks message was delivered by Mr. Uday Sinh Wala, CEO of Tamil Nadu Dragons, underscoring the importance of collaboration and community support in this journey.
